May as well collect the name change stuff here.
The two names currently under consideration are CommunityProgrammedWiki and ReprogrammableWiki?.
David Andel prefers CommunityProgrammedWiki (as posted on UseMod).
The name can be changed again in the future, but the SourceForge subdomain name will not be. Also, it'll be a pain to change all the source code files from spw.pl to whatever we decide.
I prefer a name that is pronounceable, rather than being a set of consonants. Perhaps we can use something that emphasizes the pliable nature of the wiki, or the flexible code, or perhaps play up the power to the people aspect with a something like plebius or voti... -- DavidWhitten
I too prefer real words to acronyms, but if possible I think it would be nice for the name to directly state the purpose of the project. With a project like a webserver or word processor there are enough similar projects that you sort of have the pick an arbitrary name (rather than naming your project "webserver"). But for this project we have the opportunity to be more clear. So I would prefer the name to state the purpose in plain English rather than incorporating something like "plebius" (which is ambiguous because all wikis have a large "power to the people" aspect, so it isn't clear just from the name what the difference is).
If we chose the name CommunityProgrammedWiki, the (full) name would be just that; cpwwiki would just be an abbreviation. I don't think that is so much of a problem. I do think maybe making a page on this wiki "SpwWiki" was dumb; I should have just used the longer form, SelfProgrammingWiki. But anyhow, we can change that after the name change. If we use ReprogrammableWiki?, then I can't think of a good abbreviation anyway, so I guess it would just be ReprogrammableWiki? (although this name is kind of long, so not having an abbreviation may be bad..).

Let's go ahead and pick a name; I'd like to apply for a SourceForge site by next tuesday or sooner. So far I like CommunityProgrammedWiki. -- BayleShanks
CommunityProgrammableWiki is more precise. This one potentially is programmable, but noone programmed it since a year. Could one programm a button "show changes in off-topic" on/off on the recent changes page? I could use such for an open off-topic wikiway. http://cafoscari.wiki.taoriver.net/moin.cgi/OffTopic (ok, I'll better ask the moin folks ;)). A PageIndex? would be useful here. -- MattisManzel
