My vision of CPW includes user subcommunities branching and merging the code so that subcommunities can explore different development paths simultaineously; so versioning support is definitely needed. I actually think that the newer Arch framework is more powerful than CVS, but I want to start with CVS because more people are familiar with it. Perhaps down the line I (or another user) could add Arch support.
